Criminal Defense Attorney

We are a small but dynamic criminal defense law firm dedicated to providing exceptional legal representation to individuals facing criminal and traffic-related charges. We are seeking a motivated Criminal Defense Attorney to join our team and work closely under the supervision of two experienced partners.
Position Overview:
The Criminal Defense Attorney will handle a caseload consisting primarily of traffic and criminal matters in district and superior court. This role requires strong communication skills, courtroom experience, and the ability to manage multiple cases efficiently while maintaining a high level of client service.
Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in traffic, misdemeanor, and felony matters.
- Appear in district and superior courts as required.
- Conduct legal research, case analysis, and prepare motions and other pleadings.
- Communicate with clients, prosecutors, law enforcement, and court personnel.
- Negotiate plea deals and develop case strategies under the supervision of the partners.
- Maintain organized case files and comply with all firm procedures and deadlines.
- Participate in team meetings and collaborate with legal staff and partners.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active license and good standing with the North Carolina State Bar
- 1–3 years of experience in criminal defense preferred (new attorneys with a demonstrated interest in criminal law will be considered).
- Strong oral advocacy, negotiation, and writing skills.
- Ability to manage a fast-paced caseload with attention to detail.
- Professional demeanor and commitment to ethical practice.

Legal Assistant / Intake Coordinator
Location: Raleigh/Durham
Position Type: Full-Time
Duties and Responsibilities
- Answer, screen and transfer incoming calls.
- Take & relay message.
- Schedule and confirm client appointments.
- Create new client files.
- Take payments in-person and over the phone.
- E-file court documents.
- Court reminders to clients
- Assist visitors and scheduled clients upon arrival.
- Maintain copies of client intakes, contracts and waivers.
- Oversee mail deliveries & packages.
- Assist in managing calendars for all attorneys.
Skills Required
- Basic understanding of legal terminology
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
- Advanced Computer skills
- Organizational skills to maintain accurate records
- Written communication skills
- Familiarity with NC Courts & e-Courts (plus)
- Ability to multitask.
